We are committed to continuously developing our employees, ensuring that they have the skills and competencies they need to perform their role to the best of their ability. We want everyone to enjoy their work with Peek. |
We have a number of exciting development schemes: |
Graduate Programme
This scheme is aimed at engineering graduates and provides an excellent opportunity to start a rewarding career with Peek based in our Engineering division. The successful graduates spend time in all our major departments during their first year, including our Services division, business development, production operations as well as with the engineering teams. In the second year of this two year programme, the majority of time is spent within the Engineering division, in order to gain a thorough knowledge of its various elements – hardware, software and new technology/ product development. |
Apprentice Scheme
This scheme is aimed at 16 – 19 year olds who would like to start their career within our Urban or Highways divisions, learning how to install and maintain traffic systems and equipment whilst at the same time studying for an NVQ. The successful apprentices will be given a structured 3 year training programme, and will be closely monitored by both their local management team and a mentor to ensure that they get the most out of what they learn, both at college and “on the job”. |
Highway Electrical Sector Scheme - Sector 8
Peek is a member of ASLEC (Association of Street Lighting and Electrical Contractors) and as such all our operatives are registered under the Sector Scheme. This is a scheme created by the Highways Agency to reduce fatalities and major injuries in our industry. A Sector Scheme exists for each area of the industry, and the one that applies to Peek is the Traffic Signals Scheme – Sector 8. All our engineers, installers and technicians complete the training and development requirements of the Sector Scheme. |
