2006 sees the launch of two new exciting development schemes:-
Graduate Programme
The successful candidates will be based in our Projects and Engineering division, and after a thorough induction, they will spend an allocated amount of time in our major departments, including our Services division, business development, production operations and the central support functions. In the second year of this two year programme, the majority of time will be spent within Projects and Engineering, in order to gain a thorough knowledge of it's various elements:- hardware, software and new technology/product development.
Apprentice Scheme
This scheme is aimed at 16 - 19 year olds, who would like to start their career within our Urban business, learning how to competently install and maintain our traffic signaling equipment, whilst at the same time studying for an NVQ. The successful apprentices will be given a structured 4 year training programme, and will be closely monitored by both the local Management team and a mentor from their regional office, to ensure that they get the most out of what they learn both at college and 'on the job'.
Applications for the 2007 intake for both the Graduate Programme and the Apprentice Scheme are now being processed. Please contact us by email at recruitment@peek-traffic.co.uk. The closing date for all applications is 31 March 2007.
Highway Electrical Sector Scheme - Sector 8
Peek is a member of ASLEC (Association of Street Lighting and Electrical Contractors), and as such all our operatives are registered under Sector 8. This is a scheme created by the Highways Agency to reduce the fatal and major injury rate in this industry in the UK. A sector scheme exists for each sector of the Highways Industry, and the one that applies to Peek is the Traffic Signals scheme - Sector 8. All new employees or those with less than three years service will work towards and NVQ to secure their registration.
If you would like to know more about this scheme, or how Peek can help you with registration under Sector 8, please contact us at recruitment@peek-traffic.co.uk.
