Community

The nature of our work directly affects the local communities in which we live and work. We care for local communities through educational programmes, local recruitment and charitable support.

 

Peek makes a fund available each year for activities that support local charities and community events. All employees have access to this fund and can request Peek to sponsor an event or organisation that they are involved with. Examples of the schemes, that the staff based sponsorship committee has recently approved, are:

• A school’s Road Safety Training materials in Manchester - PlaySafe
• Three Peaks challenge, to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support
• Sponsoring a Rotary Club Swimathon
• Sponsoring an employee that ran a marathon for Downs Syndrome
• Providing Peek sponsored football kits for Brinklow FC Under 9’s

 

Peek also sponsors the London Transport Museum and has done since its refurbishment in 2007. We have installed a pedestrian crossing within the museum itself which helps people to learn how to use the facilities correctly and we have a further set of signals in their shop (not for sale!).
