Infrastructure

In 2011 Peek completed its first Major Infrastructure Scheme which involved the installation and commissioning of approximately 62.5 km of fully ducted infrastructure; comprising four-way ducting, cabinet sites, vehicle restraint systems, copper and fibre optic cabling and jointing, transmission stations and associated power works. All works were installed under Traffic Management planned and co-ordinated by Peek in its role as Principal Contractor.

As part of the Imtech Traffic & Infra Dvision of Imtech N.V., we can also provide solutions for Tunnels, Bridges, Traffic Control Centres and Lock Systems. Tunnels and bridges are a stronghold of electromechanical equipment. Imtech specialises in small installations such as cameras and barriers and has the skills to integrate these into large objects.

Technology such as ventilation systems, public announcement facilities, CCTV, lighting and fire fighting equipment can all be provided for tunnel installations. We can also provide the altitude encoders which help to prevent damage to the ceiling and/or facilities of the tunnel and standstill detection should there be any issues with stationary traffic or vehicles travelling in the wrong direction. In addition to this, we can provide solutions for emergency exits and flight routes to ensure that escape routes are optimally illuminated and easy to follow.

For waterways, Vessel Traffic Systems (VTS) are used to monitor shipping traffic. Radar installations are the eyes and ears of these systems. By integrating radar information with audio and video communication, traffic can safely and quickly be navigated over the waterways.
