Signal Heads

Peek have developed and supply a range of traffic signal heads which are installed in traffic installations worldwide. All products are developed to the UK Highways Agency specifications, and are compliant with European standards.

Peek's range of traffic signal heads is as follows:

  Signal HeadsVIEW LARGER

Elite Halogen

Peek’s standard signal head offering is modular in construction enabling any combination of aspects to be joined together with any combination of full signals, arrows and symbols. The signal head was specifically designed to meet European requirements and the lens arrangement provides effective elimination of sun-phantom problems that can occur with simpler designs. Easy to install, service and maintain the Peek Elite sets the standard for smart looking signal equipment.

Elite LED 230v ac

Peek’s Mk IV LED signal is interchangeable with the Peek Elite Halogen signal. The individual optics fit into the same housings and offer the same class-leading optical performance in respect of uniformity and sun-phantom prevention. In addition each signal has an embedded microprocessor which facilitates current consumption emulation of halogen lamps. This enables the signal to be monitored on a number of traffic controllers without need for their modification. With this emulation enabled (configurable on each optic) a traffic controller can monitor the signal as it would a halogen signal and it is even possible to mix halogen and Peek Elite LED signals on a single phase. The overriding benefit of using the Peek Elite LED signals is the longevity of its component parts leading to a signal that can be installed and is then unlikely to need anything other than cleaning throughout its operational life.

Elite LED 12v dc

The 12VDC Peek Elite LED uses the same modular housing technology as Peek’s other Elite signals. The optics provide the same optical performance as the 230VAC units but the signal does not have the lamp emulation and integral LED monitoring facility. In addition, the signal has a control input for direct connection to a solar cell to enable local dimming. All aspects in a signal head are interlinked so that aspects are never displayed simultaneously at differing intensities. All these features enable the signal to run at the very low power levels required for battery operation at portable installations.
